Hi all! It's Lottie. Yesterday after lunch I went over to my cousin Julie's house for a sleepover.
I rang the doorbell to her apartment…
…And she opened it up.
I was so excited to see her I gave her a big hug!
She then led me into the living room which they had just remodeled. They have so many pictures on the walls!
"Do you like this one? My mom's friend made it. It's of Minnesota." Julie pointed to a picture.
"Really? That's so cool! " I replied.
"I also like that one." I pointed to a purple quote.
"Yeah, that one's funny." Julie laughed.
Just then the doorbell rang. Julie ran to answer.
She came back with a girl around my age. "This is Emily, my friend from school." she introduced.
"Nice to meet you. I'm her cousin, Lottie." I said, shaking her hand.
"So what do you want to do?" Emily asked.
My cousin ran over to get a big box.
"Here," she said, sitting down, "is where we keep a bunch of games."
We crowded around and settled on the game Apples to Apples.
We were just opening it when Julie's 4-year-old sister came running in.
"I wanna play!" she yelled.
"Actually, we were just about to play Apples to Ap--" Emily started
"I'm the judge!" Jewel declared.
"Um, we alternate judges so it's fair--" I began.
"NO! I want to be the judge!"
"Mom!" Julie yelled.
"Jewel, dear, why don't you come to the park with Mommy?" Mrs. Albright called.
"OK!" Jewel agreed, picking up her balloon and leaving.
Finally we could play.
After our game we decided to draw some pictures.
Julie moved the table cloth so it would be easier to draw.
Do you like my picture? :)
"Do you want to play tag or something active now?" I asked.
"Sure!" Julie replied, setting the table cloth back. "My mom and Jewel are at the park. We could join them."
"Perfect!" Emily exclaimed. So we grabbed our coats and sweaters and headed out.
"I like your shawl." I said to Emily.
"Oh thanks! My grandma made it."
"Whoa, really? That's so cool!" Julie exclaimed.
We met with Jewel at the park across the street from my cousins' apartment.
"Do you want to play tag?" I asked.
"Sure!" Jewel responded happily.
Emily was "it" so she chased us around the park.
Venturing near the more garden-like part of the park we played some rounds of hide-and-go-seek.
I counted...
…While the others proceeded to hide.
We even climbed some trees.
Except for Jewel, who was too little.
After a while we all got hungry for dinner so we went back inside.
Jewel left to play in her room so the three of us went into the kitchen.
"Are you sure you know what your doing?" Emily asked nervously.
"Of coarse! I mean, how hard can it be?" I replied confidently.
Turns out, a lot harder than I thought. After nearly lighting half the kitchen on fire, which made the smoke alarms go off which made the neighbors complain, I let Mrs. Albright take over.
After eating a delicious dinner we all got in our PJ's and sat down to watch I Love Lucy, which, by the way, is my most favorite show EVER!
Sitting on your sleeping bag, cuddling up with a stuffed animal and watching a movie with friends is the best way to spend a night, in my opinion.
We didn't have to be told twice to turn off the lights!
Have you had any sleepovers lately?
Love,
Lottie
